Using this site

Reasonable use is welcome. You may not (a) copy substantial portions of the site to compete with us, (b) attempt to break, probe, or reverse-engineer it, or (c) use it to send automated traffic that degrades it for anyone else.

Engagements

Cogneros is delivered as a managed service. Scope, deployment model, fees, service levels, security commitments, and data handling are set out in a written agreement before any of your material is touched.

Out-of-scope requests are quoted and billed separately. We would rather tell you something is out of scope than quietly absorb it and rush the work.

Your content and ours

This site, its design, code, and content are owned by The Raven Group. Anything delivered to you under an engagement — your environment, your index, your documents, and the output your people produce with it — is yours.

We do not acquire rights to your material by indexing it, and we do not use one customer’s content to serve another.

What Cogneros is not

Cogneros retrieves from your own material and drafts from it. It does not exercise professional judgment. Legal, accounting, clinical, engineering, and financial work product remains the responsibility of the qualified person who reviews and signs it.

Outputs should be verified against the cited sources before being relied on. The product is built to make that verification easy, and it assumes you will do it.

Disclaimers

The site is provided “as is.” We make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Warranties for the Cogneros service itself are those stated in your written agreement, and nothing on this website extends them.

No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.

Limitation of liability

TRG’s aggregate liability for claims arising from your use of this site is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us for site access. Liability relating to a Cogneros engagement is governed by the limits in that agreement.

If something goes wrong, tell us. We would rather work it out than argue about it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Venue for any dispute is in Denver, Colorado.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept it.
